My first TrailblazerDX was a smashing success.

This whirlwind two-day event, held in San Francisco March 6th and 7th, brought together Salesforce developers, administrators, architects, platform engineers, consultants, and Salesforce tooling vendors in a unique space for great conversations and education.

Opsera had a booth where we talked about Salesforce DevOps experience with lots of folks. We also hosted Coffee Cove where we served espressos and cappuccinos with a sprinkling of DevOps advice.

Here are some of my key takeaways from the event this year:
- Salesforce DevOps is varied – no two people had the same story to tell. Whether suffering through outdated change sets, or spending money on tooling that doesn’t quite do the job, everyone’s Salesforce story is different.
- Good developer experience is tough – from the most basic setup to complex, expensive developer tooling, most people haven’t found the right way to serve Salesforce developers to make them engaged, happy, productive, and effective.
- Platform Engineering is an emerging trend, even for Salesforce – we’ve seen this trend emerging across the SDLC and developer tooling space, but now Platform Engineering is emerging as a hot topic for Salesforce devs and admins. How can you create a better platform using a heavy hitter like Salesforce? How can you do a better job integrating Salesforce into your internal developer platform?
- AI is everywhere – AI was the main theme of TrailblazerDX 2024. From Salesforce Einstein to Opsera’s Hummingbird AI, developers are using AI to accelerate their Salesforce delivery and experience.
- Opsera is actually solving problems – there were a few Salesforce DevOps vendors representing at TrailblazerDX, and Opsera stood our own. We are truly solving problems for this crowd: better quality and security, faster delivery, out-of-the-box templates and simple automated pipelines, integrated tooling with great developer experience, and unified insights for improving performance, all powered by Hummingbird AI.
- Salesforce Developers are a stylish crew! – a fun takeaway for me was how great everyone looked! Awesome outfits, stylish backpacks, and unique personalities were on full display.
Here’s to a wonderful year in Salesforce DevOps. See you at the next event!
